Phil Coates

Phil started working for Star Strike Soccer in 2002.  He currently holds a Level Two for Sport in Coaching Football, and is also First Aid and Child Protection Certified with a valid CRB Police Check.  He aims to pursue the Level Three in coaching football (UEFA ‘B’) in the near future.

In 1997, after completing his ‘A’ Levels, Phil left for the warmer climes of Virginia , USA to undertake a Soccer Scholarship at Old Dominion University , studying English. He spent the next five years playing NCAA Division One Collegiate Soccer, attending classes, and coaching American children each summer.

On his return, Phil played for Walker Central in the Northern Alliance , and later West Allotment Celtic in the Northern League. At 29, Phil now concentrates mainly on coaching.  Phil’s friendly approach, enthusiasm, and knowledge of the game mean his coaching sessions are thoughtful and enjoyable.

With all his experience and all of the above qualities Phil has taking on the role of Assistant Head Coach with great ease.

He has become a very important and integral part of the company and is a Course Director and organiser at many of our venues.
